Well, hang in there for the Part 2 as I have a whole lot more in store for that.
While waiting, feast on this! The tale? Well... here goes. The fiance and I went to Expo like yesterday to look at the wedding displays they're having. So, definitely, you'd expect an advance Hari Raya kind of Geylang crowd there. So, to both of us, we'd just like to survey and validate the services available before we make any choices, means, no harm right?
Well, here it goes, this particular place which we went to, the "designer" pulled me in and just brushed through their portfolios with us and everything and yadayadayada up till the point where she started showing the packages available for their kind of services. So the fiance and I both were asking plenty of questions BUT beforehand we've already told her that we'd just wanted to look and not to decide on anything yet. She seemed cool about it... until! "You open an account with us for just $88 and once you've decided, you can still get the chosen package at this price and no hidden costs or anything." Sounds pretty enticing huh!
It all started with that offer and she went on and on and on about the good feedback with us, showing the deals she clenched for the 3 days affair. Come on! This kinds of things, with particulars of your customers, you don't show it to people right? That's like one of the business rules you need to follow! What's more? She kept saying other places is no good compared to theirs and just by plainly supporting that she has been in this line for like 5 years! (note: she is just the designer) what rights she have to critic on others right?
I was just plain frustrated that I started to sit up straight and arguing with her just like PBL days. At first, the fiance said, "Okay, now we want to jalan2 and look first" and she just shot back "NO! let me tell you abang, others don't offer you this good" o_0
This went on between the fiance and her. (At this kind of occasion, I usually don't speak or argue. USUALLY.) Now, when things go bad, like she started saying that the fiance is being cheeky, I've had it! I shot back at her by repeating that we came just to look at the services available only. See... I have patience. Once I've started to talk fast and looking you in the eyes and even with the hand gestures, it means... SHUT UP! Guess what she did. She just said, "Darling! No need, I can assure you we have the best deal!" And me, "Okay. If you said this is the best deal, why you worry? We'll still come back to you what!" And she kept reasoning with me which I remembered body languages! I sat back, looking everywhere, look at my watch, play with my hair while she... trying to psycho us! The fiance is very fed up that he started to pick on her words.
At the end of the day, we got out of there SAFELY and with out last nerve un-snapped, she made us promised to come back by that night itself to open an account and get a family photo free. Which means, "FAT HOPE LA EH LADY!"
But.. I still am having the leftover frustration at the end of the day up till this point. *Sigh*
