Pretty sure there are a list of websites with definition of friendship.
Might I add, even a lifeless website knows the definition of a friendship.
In case you didn't know, read on...
Friendship is the cooperative and supportive relationship between two or more people. In this sense, the term connotes a relationship which involves mutual knowledge, esteem, affection, and respect along with a degree of rendering service to friends in times of need or crisis. Friends will welcome each other's company and exhibit loyalty towards each other, often to the point of altruism. Their tastes will usually be similar and may converge, and they will share enjoyable activities. They will also engage in mutually helping behavior, such as the exchange of advice and the sharing of hardship. A friend is someone who may often demonstrate reciprocating and reflective behaviors. Yet for some, the practical execution of friendship is little more than the trust that someone will not harm them.
Value that is found in friendships is often the result of a friend demonstrating the following on a consistent basis:- extracted from http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Friendship
- the tendency to desire what is best for the other
- sympathy and empathy
- honesty, perhaps in situations where it may be difficult for others to speak the truth, especially in terms of pointing out the perceived faults of one's counterpart
- mutual understanding
Perhaps to validate my decision...
- When I searched for it, you seemed concern but never came across your mind to confess or rather inform me what was going on. Instead, all you did was... shall I re-enact? "Are you sure there are 10 sets?" bloody hell.
- I vent my problem on the missing set for months! A friend would have put me out of my misery! Let alone that, those are the times you could have come with a clean slate! Before I came up with the guts to make a report.
- SMS me to ask if I had touched your bag while you were gone as something went missing was when I found out that it was the set I was looking for. Which was what you STOLE from me.
- Put me in the spot and smsed me with "On account of our friendship..", was the cherry topping!
Friends don't steal from friends.
Friends don't keep quiet when a friend is going to be labelled "irresponsible" forever due to something went missing under her care.
Friends don't make their friends pay for their mistakes.
Friends don't put you on a spot.
Those are the basic levels of a friendship.
Thanks much for being such a good friend all these while.
I think your confession came at a wrong timing. It should have been when I told you I had to fork out the money to replace the missing set which might be above 200 bucks. It should have been when I asked the office to check the CCTV and login tap card. It should be when I told you it was either one of us. It should be the other times when we were laughing our ass off before I spoke to the necessary people.
And on account of our friendship, it doesnt matter... as there never was.
Might take years for me to forgive but never forget.
